I had a lot of grand plans to revamp the blog and get back in the habit of posting more regularly both here and on my other social media channels, but well… life sort of got in the way. (But in a good way).
If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen back in February that I announced I had a new job. Now technically it isn’t a ‘new’ job, as I’ve been working as freelancer in that role for a few years already but now I’m a proper permanent member of the team which is absolutely awesome. And I still get to work with Lego for a living. Seriously. Yes that is a job. Honest.
In the run up to Christmas last year and for the first couple of months of 2018, things have been very busy at the office, as well as being on the road (with our touring exhibitions) a lot more.
Since I’d managed to completely miss the fresh start of January for the revamp (who needs new year’s resolutions anyway?), I had decided to relaunch things at the start of March. However, the Beast from the East had other plans. This meant that the work trip near Middlesborough got extended rather unexpectedly when the A1 was closed due to snow. Basically I was stuck at our lodgings (a pub!) for a couple of days, meaning I completely missed the start of the month.
So, albeit slightly delayed, the relaunch starts here!
So what to expect in the coming year?
I have new patterns coming out very soon! I started working on the second part of A Love Like Salt last summer, and the first two patterns from the ‘South’ mini-collection should be released in the next couple of weeks.
I also have a number of new releases coming out this year with some amazing partners, and I’m really looking forward to sharing these with you when I can.
I also have some previously published designs with the rights reverting to me very soon, and I’ll be releasing these when they become available.
I love all the challenges you see on Instagram, but I’ve resigned myself to be absolutely terrible at actually managing to participate. I manage the first two or three days, and then completely fail to post anything else.
So this year I decided to try something a bit different, and set my own challenge but on a much more relaxed and flexible basis. I’ll be blogging about that soon!
Obviously with the new job, I’ve had to put my knitting classes on a hiatus at the moment. Once things get bit more settled I’m hoping to continue offering a (slightly-reduced) range of classes. I’ll add updates once these get worked out.
Out and About
I’m hoping to attend a lot more yarn events this year as a general visitor, so if you see me and want to say hello, please do! I’ll be providing information on here and on Twitter/Instagram about where I’ll be.
