Geometrickery

Clean, geometric lines form the main decoration of this cosy cowl. Interlocking, 3-D blocks link together to create the angular pattern.

The cowl uses a minimum of two contrasting shades of worsted weight yarn. The sample shown uses Rainbow Heirloom Sweater (250 yds / 230 m per 115g), in the following shades / quantities:

MC: Koala Haircut (250 yds / 230 m)

CC: Minimum 1 shade (125 yds / 115 m); sample used five shades for the CC (25 yds / 23 m per colour): Black Cherry, Bruised Lips, Favourite Aunty, Shrimp Salad and Killer Flamingo.

4 mm / US 6 circular needle 
1 stitchmarker 
Tapestry needle

Gauge 
20 stitches / 30 rows to 4 “ / 10 cm in stocking stitch

Size 
One size as written: 19 “ / 48 cm diam. x 11.5 “ / 29 cm height.

The cowl can be customised by adding (or omitting) repeats vertically and horizontally. Each chart repeat is 3 “ / 7.5 cm wide and 2 “ / 5 cm high. Alterations to the finished dimensions may require additional yarn.
