Mogador
Mogador is the second of eight patterns in the Courtesans shawl collection.
Céleste Vénard, named for the Moroccan fortress of Mogador (now known as Essaouira), came to acclaim in Paris first as a dancer, then as a chariot racer at the Hippodrome. This shawl draws on the delicate latticework seen in Moroccan architecture of her namesake for inspiration.
Mogador is an unusual curved triangular shawl with lace edging, worked from the bottom-up. Due to the nature of the lace, written instructions only are provided.
